Life after UWC

Saharawi Agents of Change

More than 20 outstanding Saharawi students have so far studied at UWC schools in Costa Rica, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Wales. Most have been offered full scholarships to continue their higher education in the United States. Our alumni are agents of change in the Saharawi community. They have spoken before the UN General Assembly, Fourth Committee and Human Rights Council as well as the European Union Commission. The experience has not only been transformative for the Saharawi students themselves, it has also exposed their fellow UWC students from around the world to Western Sahara.

The first Sahrawi UWC gathering in the refugee camps. A good mix of newly selected students, current students and alumni.

Three of our alumni spoke at the UN Special Political and Decolonization Committee meeting on Western Sahara, October 6, 2016 - Mulay (LPC 09-11), Fatimatu (RCN 11-13) and Mahfoud (RCN 12-14).
